Pico do Arieiro con impresionantes vistas panorámicas desde 1.818m de altura. Santana, la "Reserva de la Biosfera" reconocida por la Unesco, con sus típicas casas. La tradicional destilería de ron en Porto da Cruz. Pico de Facho con impresionantes vistas hacia Ponta de São Lorenço y la Bahía Machico.
Desde Funchal subimos hasta Pico do Arieiro a 1818 mts, disfrutando de paisajes deslumbrantes y excelentes vistas sobre Ponta de São Lourenço, Paúl da Serra, Curral das Freiras e incluso la isla de Porto Santo. Luego, nos dirigimos al lado norte de la isla, pasaremos por Ribeiro Frio, rodeados por la Floresta de Laurisilva (clasificada como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO), otras especies exóticas y hermosas montañas siempre verdes; disfrutando de un ambiente tranquilo. Continuando, experimentaremos un agradable todoterreno, viaje hacia uno de los pueblos más emblemáticos de la isla, Santana "Reserva de la Biosfera", conocida por sus casas triangulares, que sirvieron a los lugareños durante siglos como viviendas y establos. Después de una parada para el almuerzo (no incluido), visitaremos una destilería tradicional de ron en Porto da Cruz. Finalmente, haremos una parada en el mirador de Pico do Facho, para disfrutar de unas vistas increíbles hacia Ponta de São Lourenço y la bahía de Machico. Machico fué la primera capital de Madeira, cuando llegaron los primeros exploradores a la isla.

From Funchal we go uphill to Pico do Arieiro at 1818 mts, enjoying amazing landscapes and great views over Ponta de São Lourenço, Paúl da Serra, Curral das Freiras and even Porto Santo island. Then, heading to the north side of the island, we will pass through Ribeiro Frio, surrounded by Laurissilva Forest (classified as World Heritage by UNESCO), other exotic species and beautiful evergreen mountains; involving us in a peaceful environment. Continuing, we will experience a nice off-road journey toward one of the most emblematic towns in the island, Santana the “Biosphere Reserve”, known by its triangular houses, which served locals for centuries as dwellings and stables. After a lunch stop (not included), we will visit a very traditional Rum Distillery in Porto da Cruz. Finally, we will stop at Pico do Facho viewpoint, to enjoy amazing views over Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico Bay. Machico was the first Capital of Madeira, when the first explorers arrived on the island.
